OCTOBER BRINGS GOOD MUSIC TO LOGANBERRY BOOKS

Like the Plain Dealer states, "bookstores aren't just for books anymore," so let's bring on the music! Two upcoming concerts, one with a travelling national folk musician, and one with a favorite home-grown jazz quartet will make Thursday evenings at Loganberry Books the place to be.

Rachanee
Thursday, October 4, 8pm

Independent and award-winning recording artist Rachanee (pronounced: RAH-shah-knee) will be the featured performer at Loganberry Books, 13015 Larchmere Blvd, in Shaker Heights on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 8 pm. Loganberry Books is the first stop on Rachanee’s month-long Midwest and East Coast tour.

The Michigan-based singer/songwriter will be performing songs from her current album, “3 am,” and her debut album, “Ordinary Girl,” on which the track, “Here with Me" was selected as the Best Contemporary Christian Song for the 2006 Independent Music Awards. Another song from her debut, “From Here,” placed second in the 2006 Great Lakes Songwriting Contest.

Rachanee’s songs resonate with college students and young adults. “The majority of my songs were written toward the end or shortly after I had graduated from college. So many of them were about finding your way in the world, learning who you are or carving your niche, and looking to the future. They were also songs about how sometimes you have to make hard choices to stick with your convictions,” said Rachanee.

Her honest, life-inspired lyrics have been reaching the hearts of audiences since 2003. She has been performing at churches, fairs, festivals, bars and on the coffeehouse circuit around the country. She has appeared on (“Tuesdays with Morrie” author) Mitch Albom’s radio show. She has also opened for national acts such as Warren Barfield, former Caedmon's Call member Derek Webb, Paul Wright, and Brian VanderArk of the Verve Pipe.

Tickets are $10, sliding scale available. For additional information on her appearance, please contact Rachanee at (517) 980-3404 or Loganberry Books owner Harriett Logan at (216) 795-9800. To sample her music, check out her website at www.rachanee.net .
