Larchmere Sidewalk Sale
Saturday, September 1, 2018, 10:00am--5:00pm

The indie strip known as Larchmere Boulevard celebrates several festivals and two sidewalk sales annually, just as they've done for the past three decades or so. It is a nostalgic nod to the days of mainstreet America, with sole proprietor shops sweeping the sidewalks and putting our their discount merchandise, just as the new merchandise for the holidays begins to trickle in. A time honored tradition of bargain shopping as the warm weather begins to fade and the kids go back to school, scheduled as usual on the long Labor Day weekend. Other vendors and food trucks help add to the allure of a leisurely last weekend of outdoors shopping spree.

Larchmere Boulevard, one block north of Shaker Square, features approximately 40 shops, galleries, eateries and services featuring art, antiques, books, china, gifts, jewelry, oriental rugs, wearable art, beauty salons and more. If you're lucky, you can view the sun set right over Terminal Tower and shine down the middle of street as she sets. The locals call this Stonehenge-like natural occurance Larch-henge.
