Loganberry Books Hosts 11th Cleveland Edible Books Festival, Saturday, April 5

Loganberry Books (13015 Larchmere Blvd.) and Strong Bindery will host Cleveland’s 11th annual Edible Books Festival on Saturday, April 5, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Book fans young and old are invited to create an entry and/or vote for (and eat) the entries. The festival has just one rule:  Make edible art that has something to do with books. How people choose to interpret that rule is part of the fun of the event.  There is no charge to enter or to view the entries, however, a ballot (for voting) and a fork (for eating the entries afterward) is $3 per person.

Set-up for the event begins at 12:00 p.m. Viewing and voting runs from 1:00-2:00. Prizes are awarded at 2:00, after which the entries are gleefully eaten. This year’s contest categories include:

Logan Award for Most Literary
Otis Award for Most Appetizing
Strong Award for Best Binding
Zober Award for Best Pun

Loganberry Books and Strong Bindery give out hand-made miniature book pins to all contest entrants and book awards to contest winners. Corresponding books as part of your display are also encouraged.  Please register your entry ahead of time by contacting Emily at 216.795.9800 or

The International Edible Book Festival began in 2000 and is held annually on the first Saturday of April, in honor of April Fool's Day and the birthday of French gastronome Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (1755-1826), famous for his book Physiologie du gout, a witty meditation on food.
