Michael Ceraolo: Euclid Creek
This 130-page epic poem traces the origins of Euclid Creek and proceeds
to illuminate hundreds of years of Northeast Ohio history as it
meanders like the flow of water through people, places and events that
have shaped the destiny of the land that we call home. A must read for
denizens of the Western Reserve.
"Michael Ceraolo may be the most versatile poet writing in America
today... This was Moses Cleaveland’s creek; now it is Michael
Ceraolo’s." -- Dr. Kelley J. White, poet

N91: nine toed ninny
My mom remembers having a children's book that she thinks she got
as part of a grocery store promotion. The story was about a boy who
wished his little sister would turn into a nine toed ninny. I think she
does and of course he's sorry. We would have had this back in the 60's
to 70's.

Anne
Weissman: An Edition of One - The Artist's Book
Thursday, April 19, 7pm
~third Thursdays ~
Anne Weissman of the Altered Books Group gives a
show and tell and overview history on artists' books. While artists'
books have a long history of turning traditional bookbinding on its
head, modern altered books begin with a traditionally bound book and
turn that object on its head. Both are fabulous expressions of art
through books. Along with their current display in the Annex Gallery,
Weissman will discuss the inspirations and methods used to create
sculpture, painting, montages and purely original artwork. Come learn
more about the history of the artist's book and see the current
exhibit! Suggested donation: $3
Bloomsday Book Club
Thursday, April 26, 7pm
~fourth Thursdays~
With a stalwart group of hardy
lit buffs, we will tackle the greatest book of the 20th century, James
Joyce's Ulysses. The first assignment was to read the
first
two chapters (~40 pages), plus any annotations or Bloomsday Book
notes to
help analyze it. The second assignment just continues from there, so
it's not too late to join the group! We'll meet the fourth Thursday of
each month, so if
you missed the first meeting, don't fret, just read the first
three-four
chapters and come on April 26.
